I joined the Abstract Challenge group recently and this is my first piece. This month's theme is Orange and the tile of this one is You Can't have Orange without Blue. I've always enjoyed creating counterchange designs and this semmed to lend itself to it. I used two pieces of my hand-dyed fabric; fused Bondaweb (Wonder Under) to a length of each as described in Melody Johnson's blog (see Favourite Places) and cut the shapes freely then fused them down, finishing off with free-machine quilting and a conventional binding (for a change).

Hi Sandra,
I've really enjoyed looking at all your quilts. I especially love this orange and blue one, and the brightly coloured one 'jammin'
I'll definitely visit again soon,

Hi Sandra, I'm new to the challenge group too and I love it! I love your orange and blue piece, and I love jammin. Your cat could be a twin to mine - right down to the facial expression!!

Thanks everyone for your comments on my piece. I agree with Judy that one of the best things about blogging is meeting other artists!
Looking forward to seeing your next abstract challenge.
From Vivian - who is also two months behind!
