ReplyDeleteLooks like a 'Brain Coral' ( taxonomic family Faviidae) to me. Although I'm a botanist, I had to do some zoology in the first year of my degree. We had to dissect some corals but what I remember most is dissecting a starfish (imagine if you can the smell of 50of these!) After that I stuck to plants!
Why it's a brain coral, of course. I have many of these from a trip to Bonaire.
ReplyDeletelol, firstly I wanted to shout "its a Brian, it's a Brian" because I'm childish and like the joke... but of course its brain coral.
ReplyDeleteYep, I was thinking brain coral before I clicked on comments. It is stunningly beautiful. Also looks like something in the back of my fridge! (Just joking! I think.)
ReplyDeleteMy brain BEFORE I tackle math homework with my children :)
